Apple unveiled a bevy of new updates and products last week including the highly anticipated iPhone 5. Here is what you need to know:

First, Apple made a few updates to the classic iPhone design to make their new phone stand out from its predecessors. The iPhone 5 has a taller screen at 4 inches, which is slightly larger than previous versions.

The phone also boast a improved camera, the new iSight camera can take pictures faster and more easily in low-light conditions. Apple also allows users to snap photos from a recording video as well.

It also has a faster processor called the A6 chip which allows users to operate the phone’s apps much more quickly. The body of the phone is also smaller and made of aluminum, which should provide more durability and less screen breaks.

A new charger and connector for the phone, the Lightning, is the first update to Apple’s line of charger/connectors since 2003. The much-thinner power charger is already causing some controversy, as customers must purchase a $29 adapter to make the iPhone 5 work with existing accessories.

Apple’s new app Passbook for the iPhone 5 and touch can hold digital copies of coupons, concert tickets, gift cards and more. Every coupon or ticket can be scanned right from the Passbook app, and the app will automatically bring up your passes and tickets when you need them.

Many loyal Apple users are wondering what they should do with their old phones after purchasing the new iPhone. We suggest handing it down or trying to sell it on The iPhones have an excellent resale value and many use the profits from selling the used phone to help them afford a new one.

Give them to your kids or someone else on your phone plan. They will enjoy having an upgraded phone and save you from having to buy them a new one down the road. Also, iPhone owners can also continue to use their old phones as small iPads and use it for its Wi-Fi capabilities.
